Hi, I’m Omar Abuassaf. I live in Los Angeles and work at UCLA in IT support and web systems, while also building software and writing on the side. This blog is the English side of my voice — a personal space where I share ideas, reflections, and lessons from real life.
My writing moves between thought, technology, and the human mind. Sometimes that means artificial intelligence and what language teaches us about intelligence. Other times it’s about work, learning, habits, creativity, or the quiet details of everyday American life. I’m interested in fundamentals — how people think, how tools shape behavior, and how meaning is built through words.
Professionally, I’ve spent years in technology: supporting systems, troubleshooting problems, and building websites — especially WordPress projects — while also exploring Python, automation, and modern development. Outside work, I’m deeply connected to language and literature, and I care about building communities around thoughtful conversation and creativity.
You’ll find a mix here: essays, experiments, opinions, and occasional practical notes. I don’t write to chase trends. I write to understand — and to leave behind something clear, honest, and useful.
What I write about
• Thought & Meaning — how ideas form, how language shapes perception, and how we make sense of the world
• Technology & AI — reflections on artificial intelligence, systems, and the future we’re building
• Work & Craft — lessons from IT, web development, and building real projects over time
• Life in the U.S. — personal observations from living and working in America
• Learning & Growth — habits, discipline, and the long road of becoming better at what matters
A small note
This is a personal blog. The opinions here are my own, and I write with respect for people, ideas, and honest disagreement. If something here helps you think more clearly, even a little, then it’s doing its job.
